Welcome to the BUGS family! What makes our innovative sustainability curriculum and hands-on approach to learning so special is you! We are excited to welcome students who share our passion for environmental, social, and economic sustainability and want to be part of a community committed to building a more just and sustainable world.
We will begin student enrollment in May 2024. Once you accept your seat at BUGS, we will contact you soon after with additional enrollment information.
Please note that the first day of school is Tuesday, September 3.

Enrollment is ongoing, and you must have an appointment.
If you have been offered a seat and you choose to accept it, we will email you the link to make an online appointment. Enrollments will be virtual.
Please allow for at least 30 minutes before your appointment to complete and upload the necessary paperwork. The enrollment appointment will also be about 30 minutes.
Spanish speaking staff members will be available at the times indicated on the enrollment signup form.
Your child does not have to be present for the appointment.
You will need internet access, and a working email address in order to complete your child’s enrollment.
Reminder! All enrollment forms must be completed and documents submitted prior to your enrollment appointment. See below for the list of materials that will be needed for enrollment.

materials needed TO ENROLL YOUR CHILD:
Required
Your ID (a driver’s license or other official State ID)
A copy of your child’s Birth Certificate
A copy of a recent Health Examination Form (dated within the past year)
A copy of your child’s Complete Immunization Records (see here for required immunizations)
Two documents showing proof of address, or CSD (Community School District). For a list of acceptable REQUIRED documents, please see below.
Submit the following only if they are appropriate for your student:
A copy of your child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), 504 Accommodation Plan, or any other forms and evaluations you would like to share (if applicable)
Proof of Guardianship (if your name is not on the birth certificate)
A copy of documentation showing a name change, such as a Marriage License (if your current name is not on the Birth Certificate
A copy of a Medication Administration Form and/or Asthma Medication Administration Form (if your child requires medication during the school day); see the DOE Health Services Page for updated forms.
PROOF OF CSD / RESIDENCY:
A residential utility bill (gas or electric ONLY) in the resident’s name issued by National Grid, Con Edison, the Long Island Power Authority, or other utility service dated within the past 60 days. (Note: cable, phone or cell phone bills will not be accepted.);
An original lease agreement, deed, or mortgage statement for the residence, which must be valid at the time of enrollment;
A current property tax bill for the residence;
A water bill for the residence dated within the past 60 days;
Official payroll documentation from an employer such as a form submitted for tax withholding purposes or payroll receipt; a letter on the employer’s letterhead will not be accepted; must be dated within the past 60 days;
Documentation or letter on letterhead from a federal, state, or local government agency, including the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), City Housing Authority, Human Resources Administration (HRA), the Administration for Children Services (ACS), or an ACS.
Please Note: Non-utility bills are NOT acceptable as CSD proof. We cannot accept cable bills, phone bills, or other credit card bills. ONLY the items above can be accepted as proof of CSD. If you have special living circumstances, please contact BUGS directly. Thank you!
